CORTLANDT STREET SUBWAY STATION, NYC
When the World Trade Center buildings fell in 2001 this station was totally destroyed and it took nearly 17 years for it to finally reopen. The station features a mosaic by the artist Ann Hamilton using the words from the Declaration of Independence. Apogee Lighting engineered and built custom fixtures and brackets to provide the artwork wall wash effect the MTA wanted while maintaining their challenging specifications for a subway fixture.
