FINANCIAL SERVICES NYC FLAGSHIP AT HUDSON YARDS, NYC
This is a very unique stretch ceiling installation where the architects on this project—Switzer Group—ideated the ceiling which was located next to the Hudson River to mimic sailboats. Lighting Designer Kugler Ning gave them the lighting solution that also included an acoustic dampening solution for this busy trading floor. We believe it is the largest stretch ceiling installation in the United States covering over 33,000 square feet.
By extending this stretched ceiling throughout the space the designer created an outdoor experience inside. The final aspect to this project was commissioning the lighting to follow a circadian rhythm pattern throughout the day which was exceptionally challenging since each sectioned needed its own pattern. Kugler Ning enlisted a team of the LRC (Lighting Research Center) to help us with the project.
